Geographic Resources Analysis support System (GRASS) is a Geographic Information System (GIS) used for geospatial data management and analysis, image processing, graphics/maps production, spatial modeling, and visualization.

Maya is a powerful 3D modeling, animation and rendering software.

Movie Editing

iMovie HD

Platform: Mac OS X (built-in with 10.4, part of iLife suite)

iMovie is easy to use for simple editing. Supports HD video also.

QuickTime Pro

Platforms: Mac OS X/Windows (Commerical software)

Very useful to create a movie from a set of individual frames and to convert movies from one format to another.

ImageReady

Useful information in helping you assemble your Quicktime Movies.

Final Cut Studio

Platform: Mac OS X. Available on the iCluster.
